Yes thunder does look very favourable tomorrow for Northern regions
Time to extend the topic title to the 3rd

Rain = was that ???
I get bored with reading posts about thunderstorms north of a line from Taranaki to Gisborne.
Thinking -
I might change the name of my society to the NZ South Island Thunderstorm Society, with interests in lower North Island thunderstorms as well.

Should see some Thunderstorms in Canterbury later this week if you get the day time heating with on shore winds.
Cool and overcast here.
Some sunny weather here this morning would be interesting.

The development of a surface southwesterly here this morning shifts todays convective risk east into eastern Waikato/BOP, maybe Coromandal too.

I'm sure you do! Too bad it's spring now so your going to hear much of the same from now up until about mid-Janurary, then central regions like Central Plateau/Manawatu will get more thunderstormsNZ Thunderstorm Soc wrote:JohnGaulFoggy Hamilton wrote:Periods of rain here, increasing to the evening now.

Periods of rain showers continuing today, 14c with moderate southwesterlies
Fine break tomorrow, but evening showers, then a very wet showery, windy week ahead
