Auckland Funnel Cloud 29/9/05

Saw this Funnel cloud from Mt Roskill over South Auckland this afternoon about 3.30pm

There were some small Cu build ups over South Auckland this afternoon.
The Airport had a temp of 19C , Dewpoint 13C at 3pm.

Good Stuff Spwill, have you got a more wide angle shot?? that shows up th cloud.

T/cu tops today only 2300m.

No, the cloud tops were obscured at the time of the Funnel.

Photo below shows the Cu the funnel came from, just small.
Took this photo 10 mins later.

4/8 of piling Cu here today, few T/Cu about, nothing special.
Cumulus to the north did look quite 'active' I must say

18c now (Warmest in NZ) light winds and nearly clear 8)

you migth have missed this more recent one aron, friday just gone, simillar area (Karaka this time)

by Spwill,(while sitting in a newly landed airplane at auckland airport!) from a big CB shower (that had good lightning and produced flash flooding in some places (like Glenbrook)
