And yet another Hawkes Bay Weather Station

Unread post by Emerross »

Hi all.
Just to let you know that another Hawkes Bay weather station has gone on air. While I currently dont have my own web site, but am working on it, to display Hastings weather I contribute my weather data to Weather Underground. My site ID is IHAWKESB5.
My data is collected by La Crosse WS 2305 wireless weather station and down loaded to my PC were it is processed by weather display software.
Would welcome any feed back

Welcome to the forum :)

Few comments, the max. high at Napier airport was 16c while you report 25c in Hastings... I suggest you look into some sort of stevenson screen and cut out any radiation given to the temp sensors.

Wind seems to be gusting to low speeds as well, how exposed is it?

Just getting mine into action too! :D

Cheers

yes, thte 2300 stations temp/hum sensor housing is relaly not all that adequate, and so you need to improve on that, and foggys suggestion is a good one ;)

Another Hawkes Bay Weather Station

Unread post by Emerross »

Thanks to Foggy and Manukau Heads observer for feed back.
Yes I am looking at placing sensor into some form os Stevenson Screen. Currently sensor is in direct sunlight from about 2.00pm in the afternoon. So hope to have some form of screen in place soon.
Also enjoying navigating my way around Weather Display software. thanks for developing a great program.

Be prepared for the inevitable moaning from locals when you do house the sensor: they will tell you that it's "broken" because "it was much hotter than that today!"...

Good luck explaining the concept of ambient air temperature! :D
