I'd thought that the Waikato would of been buggered years ago by micro-organisms from polutants put/drained into the river by careless human beings as this river is one of the major drains of the North Island.
The majority of NZ's pop live in the area surrounded by the Waikato so something like this is not surprising.
I would not buy any beer that is brewed from the waters of the Waikato [-X

Haha how many beer is that? Quite a few actually including all the soft drinks, juices etc. that are made up there.

River doesn't look noticebly worse.. still safe for drinking from the treatment plant.. In fact, Hamilton's water was voted the best in NZ in some herald article last year.. :)

at least it does not have any rock snot in it :shock:
(which only likes fast flowing rocky streams though, yes?)
the whey moved slower than though and they were able to pump alot of it out
even if it did get to the waikato, thats a lot of dilution happening there, and i think the worries were over the top, of it causing problems, but thats just my 2 cents worth
