Brian Hamilton's question: "where is the next lot of decent rain going to come from?"
Gary Roberts' answer: "Um, I'm guessing from clouds in the sky. Just my opinion."
And the problem is, what...exactly?

Looks like much of the country is slipping back into winter this week.
Most of the precip in the south and east. Staying mainly dry and hopefully sunny in Auckland.

We have has some nice rain in the Bay of Plenty this evening, hoping for a bit more over night. Much needed although it only seems like yesterday that we were wishing for it to be dry. Some heat and wind makes a difference.

Some rain draining into the Mackenzie lakes would be helpful. Pukaki and Tekapo are lower than I can remember ever seeing them.

Nice one!
I gather you have all suffered a drought?
Been quite the reverse over here.
