Max temperature: 29.7 °C (8th)
Average max: 21.8 °C

Min temperature: 9.4 °C (26th)
Average min: 12.7 °C

Rainfall: 32.2 mm (on 11 days)
Max rain: 8.4 mm (22nd)

Much warmer than Dec 2004 .... on average by over 4 °C :)

ended up being on of the driest years on record here in the auckland area.....mainly due to the very dry autumn we had ;)

a good year for all sorts of weather here, just now need a cylone to top it all off ;)

Auck. will also be the sunniest of the "5 mains" - that's only happened in 2 other years since 1986. W'gton was well above average as well (and 2005 should be confirmed as the driest year here since 1982)

I got 40.4mm of rain here at my site for December with a grand total of 491.1mm for the year.
Warmest December day was Sunday the 4th with a max of 29.2
Coolest morning was on Thursday the 1st with a minimum of 11.3C

To put the very warm December 2005 in perpective, the month was 1.9C above normal nationally, but 4.1C warmer than the exceptionally cold December 2004!
