WD tells me 3.8mm/min, however the console tells me 180mm/hr or 3mm/min so i'm lost as to which one it really was ;) Also a gust of 58km/h as it came through.. eased off now and only light rain is falling.

Seems to be more coming too! :)

Dare I mention thunder tonight i hope iam right hehe that ryhmed ;) :D .

MetService has lately issued a heavy rain warning for the hills as far south as the Rakaia Gorge - I presume that means the Canterbury foothills. The rest of mid and North Canterbury should still get some decent rain out of this system. :) Farmers and gardeners should be happy.
Only a few spits at present in central Chch (yellow ball in the sky has just made a weak appearance), but we've had solid rain at times this morning.

not much action here so far
only 0.8mm
33knots from the NW, not even worth mentionning, for here ;)
all the action went down the coastline to the south of us and into the werstern waikato, as the front rotated around the low

Ceiling lifting here after several hours of steady rain - expect total fall to be highest for several months, at least in some parts.

Surprisingly dry this afternoon in central chch, with only a few little spits. 4pm radar shows we're in a dry patch between rainbands - I believe the rain will return this evening.

Yes and some very heavy falls of that and some distant thunder out at sea I wasnt too sure if it was at first but tracker now proves me right.
Id say more of the same ahead tonight lots heavy rain.
10.2mm since 5pm most falling in the heavy rain segmant of 6.3mm in 10 minutes.

Good downpour in chch between 4 and 5am this morning and the easterly started to blow too!

Not too cool and 17 degrees at the moment, although I believe it's not forecast to go much higher
