Two of the more useful numbers in a monthly report are average maximum and average minimum. Would be interested to these included in your monthly summaries.

I only take a reading at 5pm and the thermometer captures the min and max (not captured via a datalogger). To average my daily readings wouldn't work too well. I do however graph the previous 90 days which does provide me with some artistic edutainment. Most recent data is at the right hand side.

Cheers,

G

god NZ is cold!!! My Melbourne February Observations: Stratocumulus every morning, predominantly 22c days and 13c nights, with constant south westerlies. Overall, colder and lame when compared to normal summer conditions.
When cold fronts come you will cry; I wish there was a blocking high, cold fronts bring miserable cold and drizzle, which makes me sniffle.

Maybe you should be sent to Invercargill.. or the Chathams would be better. Then you may stop the whinging about Melbourne.

I wouldn't think so :?:
Try painting a pump shed with no shade in 30c temps :x
...anyway good to see Australia with figures of 7 runs for 4 wickets in the cricket

How about Campbell Is (640 hrs sun/year). Dumb Internet refs. quote Ben Nevis (680-700 hrs) as the cloudiest place with regular observations - nonsense! Or Dumont D'urville base in the Antarctic, where 320kph winds have been recorded in May...

Nothing wrong with Invercargill Foggy apart from the odd cold snap, (that isn't always restricted to the bottom of the country) - it's character building. ;) I won't get into the cons of other Towns/Cities around the country.

Yes Melbourne can get hot in the summer but the winters are cool/cold. I know as Ilived there for a couple of years. Sometimes summers can be a disappointment but it's swings and roundabouts so maybe Melbourne will do better next year. :)

His Melbourne "facts" about February and the summer are simply wrong. Refer my email in the Melbourne thread.

BTW Flutterbye, I could be tempted to make a (climate) observation about Invercargill and other southern locations that is not related to temps. - but I will continue to resist it. Your positiveness is much easier to listen to than the whingers' output. The saaaab guy has been banned from at least one Aussie forum.

yeah I've been banned from weather zone. But I don't care about them. They are all cold people and I urge you to boycott weatherzone.

And Yes living in Invercargill would be living hell for me. There is no such thing as summer there. Infact, all of New Zealand would be too cold for my liking.

And Flutterbye re your signiture....I wouldn't wave back to the heat I'd marry the sexy angel!!!!

I see Perth has another 37C promised - that would go down quite well with me right now after the rather rude readjustment of temperature in the last couple of days...

It's of interest that they have got so used to milder winters in recent years in the UK that January and February were perceived as cold - but both were a little warmer than average - notwithstanding Feb. being the coldest since 1996.
