-2C at Campbell Island at noon - indication of how cold the airmass is. Still raining here, and the southerly is freshening, though the temperature is only dropping slowly.

Yeah right Gary, whipped it up in Photoshop, radioed it up to NOAA 17, hacked the control software so that NOAA 17 would re-broadcast it instead of the real picture, and so Steven Graham's satellite system would pick it up and display it.

Here's a version of the satellite pic that Tony is talking about - it's been "redrawn" using different software to (hopefully) make it clearer

There is some lumpy cu around, unless something changes drastically I don't think we will get thunder in Auckland today... There! by saying that publically that will ensure there is thunder as soon as I hit the post button below!

The clear air is now disappearing northwards, and nastiness is approaching from the south. Hopefully some action weather is in the works!

Unfortunately not. In all honesty it is impossible to get someone over this weekend. What will leak in - will do regardless.
Anyhow, at least we do now have a lovely big yellow plastic bucket and matching towels:)

It's still warm here but the wind is gusting quite hard now from the south, with spits of rain.

Wet and cold here on BP, but the really icy stuff and hail hasn't reached us yet. Southerly is strengthening though.
