same here, if i wanted all day sunshine i'd live in Cairns. What i'd like is a southerly windstorm, a great nest of gales all twisting and shrieking all day.

what you need is a warm NW to melt the snow witch would bring floods that would keep ya busy, and them on top of that some powerfull storms and gales then noone would be bored ;)

Ooooh...a windstorm! That'd be cool (and the windchill factor very cool...), but I can't even remember what wind sounds like these days! :D

Omarama, Lake Ohau and Twizel weather stations are still predicting snow right now, so maybe it'll happen.

Its really pointless discussing dates 2 weeks out as models change so much, so no can say it will snow or not, probably more not than will!! :)

Well... I heard through a friend's wife's mother's friend's son (yes that is correct), who incidentally works for MS, that Dunedin is in for a HUGE snowfall around July 6th and 7th.

So there!!! ;)

If that's not true well I think I will just give up on weather altogether =;

This Tuesday,Wednesday could possibly see snow down to very low levels especially on Wednesday morning so here is hoping for some more flakes ;) :D .
This comes as some what extra bonus because the event I am watching out for is 10th July area and I have a feeling this one could be bigger then the 12th. 8)
Just wait and see aye.
May as well start calling south island S-iceland ;) .
Cheers

cold morning here because of cloud cover that came in just after sunrise....still only 5oC at 9:30 am.....cold for us anyway!
(should warm up though when the easterly winds come in from the pacific, whih should keep this warmer now for next few days...?)
2.8oC colder than other junes here (for last 5 years anway).....
must be one of aucklands coldest junes on record?

just heard the good news on whats coming up with all this snow storm again hehe
Snow will get down to 300m, good news for the Ski fields if they need
more snow.

Yes Brian, a very cold June but atleast this southerly cold air is less damp.
Last year a cold June was followed by a warm July/ August, here's hoping.

June last year may have been cold, but it wasn't nearly as cold as this June.

Earlier today the cb's could be seen out past Great Barrier Island - must be something lingering in the area for them to appear today as well. Now lost in the haze. Anyone got any SST charts to see if there is a blob of warm water around?
