No storm, unfortunately against tomorrow's BLAST from the south.
I don't think the barometer will fall enough to allow a stormy weather change.
If it does rain, there will be some snow falling here,especially down to below sea-level as I earlier predicted
The weather will clear up quickly to produce some fine days onward from tomorrow night

Models chopping and changing, possibly a bit of an non-event. Im not saying there wont be any snow, but not as much as metservice are predicting, not that we should be looking at there forecasts!!

SNOW TO LOW LEVELS IN OTAGO AND CANTERBURY TUESDAY MORNING
A cold front sweeping over the South Island tonight and in the
morning is expected to be accompanied by another cold southerly
outbreak which could bring snow to low levels from Southland to the
Kaikoura Coast. Heaviest falls are likely to be in the Canterbury
hills with up to 20cm there above about 500 metres in about 6 hours
and lesser amounts lower down. Some snow may reach sea level for a
time in the morning.
In eastern Otago snow showers may bring 10cm as low as 100 metres in
about 6 hours in the morning with lesser amounts down to near sea
level. The snow should ease to lighter showers later in the day but
strong cold southerlies will continue into Wednesday.

about midnight Monday 10cm of snow may fall in eastern areas to near

cold southerly winds continue.
KAIKOURA COAST
Cold southerlies will spread north Tuesday morning. In 6 to 9 hours
from about 8am Tuesday 10-15cm of snow may accumulate above 300

Southerly is just strenthining here now with a little bit of rain falling so nothing white as of yet .
It's 6C out so too warm at the moment for anything but I can see it developing by the 6am radar below some areas of heavyness developing perhaps indicating something.
No temps are below 0C in the south island at the moment either coldest is gore on 3C.
Whats it like in Dunedin this morning.
