Some good active snow showers passing through Dunedin.
Still very cold and starting to settle at low levels.
Dont expect it to last though.

Not in central city yet, but heavy hail a few minutes ago, heavy enough to settle on the ground.

Nothing remotely snow flake looking here in Lincoln, just FREEZING cold rain / wind. My 4 year old's birthday today and he's hanging out for snow today as a birthday treat :) Don't know if he's going to be in luck. Learnt a big lesson this winter - when moving to a really cold place don't move into the lovely "character" farm cottage with no insulation.......BRRRRRR

The news is telling us that Queenstown got a short sharp dump of snow this morning. Closed the airport, disrupted traffic. Sounds like it must've been quite intense.

Big hail shower just gone through some tiny hail but also the odd one or two pea size :D .
Should see some snow showrs later around evening as long as there is enough moisture around.
Cheers
