Looks set to be another chilly one :D I think we are most likly to see snow showers to sea level more in the morning probly about 6-11am.
Although that cold front is coming through relativly early or is it the trough that will be the main player. 8)
I see snow forecast to 200m in southern NI and Sleet to sea level in Wellington not often you see that.
Now the wait begins. :)
Cheers

The Southland rain radar showed a front passing probably west of Dunedin, I guess that's what Gore got. I'm more interested in the stuff appearing beside Stewart Island within the last hour 8)

Some heavy showers laced with hail peppered Chch in the early hours of this morning...The wind was very gusty coming in from the south and yet at 1am there was a very slight frost!

There is the promise of further wintry showers today and adding in the windchill factor it feels temporarily that we are visiting the South Pole or are they visiting us?!

Certainly some good falls of snow around the Dunedin hills.
Currently sleating and hailing at sea level and a temp of 1.7deg.
All primary and intermediate schools have a delayed opening.

Wouldn't be surprised if you did Mike 8) the 3am radar had a heavy area of rain over Birdlings Flat area at 3am.
Also might hear the odd thunder clap today if we get a good heavy hail shower 8) .
Cheers

Just to add I see the new forecast for Wellington is for hail and then snow showers developing with S gales and a high of 7...Must be a rare occurrence and the Springboks must be numb!
