Well pretty much that put's global warming at a standstill If people can't stop polluting the air and power prices don't go down then it is likly that it will defiantly take place.
With the way petrol being so expensive now also affecting other daily things plus in dry months when the hydro lakes get down it's abit shaky at the moment.
Although it's already happening and quite fast I still think it's too late

I read an interesting article about the Amazonian rainforest drought caused by global warming. As the Amazon enters its second year of drought, an ongoing experiment (that effectively put a roof over a football sized patch of rainforest and prevented rainfall) has shown that the forest can sustain iteself through 2 years, but fails (possibly catastrophically) during the third year.... the resulting release of carbon into the atmosphere is cause for for serious concern.

I can't recall where I recently read this, but will try to find the link, it was from a reputable source however...

Some anticyclone. 7mm of rain overnight in occasional heavy showers in Waitakere. Got absolutely soaked to the bone walking ot the train this am.

We've had Sat-Mon fine, will squeeze this am out of it as well, then southerly will improve Ak and we'll get cold showers for a couple of days.

It's the SW flow around the anticyclone but it has been a fine morning here, currently 13C.

The winds are almost at Gale force but it looks as if the showers are eased.How i know that is the trees sound like a freight train in notch 8

Also the aeroplanes whistle across on approach to the airport

July 1985 was a mild but very wet month here - August was OKish with some westerly - September was wonderful with 229 hrs sun and 14 or so consecutive days of anticyclonic ENE conditions

Aucklands weather would be good if it was 1 less SW and where it is.2 Orientated same north-south orientation but at -20 latitude or 3 if it had a more ENE-WSW orientation so the SW were like the SE

Three fine days in a row, with warmer temperatures and occasional windy spells have been just what we needed to start to dry out sodden ground. They also gave us the opportunity to clear up fallen trees etc.

I was over in southern Wairarapa yesterday. Breezy as usual near Featherston, but calmer, sunny and warm near Greytown and Martinborough. There's still a lot of surface water about, and extensive areas of farmland ponding where water is trapped by undulating surroundings.

Most roads back to normal. Crews have done well in getting the Rimutaka Hill Road back to normal (water still running out of banks and in roadside drains after 3 fine days). State Highway 2 between Featherston and Greytown still had water running across it in 2 places - necessitating minor speed restrictions.

Farmers were busy working on drainage issues and the baa-baras were happily munching away on feed-outs.

It was nice while it lasted. The first curtain of misty rain passed through Tawa from the south at about 11:30 a.m.

The city total of rain so far is 266mm, probably won't top the 1974 value of 282mm (which is the highest for Kelburn 1928+ records). Despite this the sunshine is not below normal for the month to date.

Sun has returned since lunch, but may be just a "gap".

We are still waiting for the S OR SE change so promised.Still 8/8 100% SW only abated to strong at times now 13c
