I think you will find that the change has come through slightly later than what metservice had forcasted, so 9C at the time that they thought the change would come thru would have been about right.

Wel the front seemed to have broken up before reaching Bp and then moved out to sea. Lincolin and the surrounding received rain.

Come to think of it, to get from Invergiggle to Dunedin in two hours, the cloud would have to be moving about 90kph.

The clouds did seem to be moving a lot faster than the wind at ground level. ;)

Yes well that flick was short and sweet and didn't come of much perhaps because the flow is more SW at the moment instead of southerly which would throw the showers onshore more.
Still the brunt of the cold snap is still to come with showers some hail and maybe abit of sleet ;) .
Got my camera out today first chance at taking pics of cumulus with my new camera didn't do too bad.
Cheers
Jason.

well it was a nice balmy old day in christchurch yesterday with a high of around i guess 15C? i didnt see the weather on the news so thats a guess. As jason pointed out we had a few cumulus clouds about even some towering ones. but didnt come to much.Hopefully tonight and Monday will see some more extreme weather with some colder air moving through, might deliver abit of hail or sleet.Have to see what happens. ;)
