Rain has arrived and soon the predicted "Gales"

The rain has arrived just now in Auckland as the wind goes clockwise(still calm now) then later the predicted SW "gales" will arrive :(

At least it cleared up by lunchtime(it looked as though it had set in) to leave it sunny and warm again :)

Looks like its coming late as the clouds are now racing across the sky here from the "Gale Direction" and the low to the east has joined up the westerly flow-The rain/showers should arrive in the morning now

The Rain/Showers now have arrived in earnest now Sky is 8/8 as well and the wind is now "Gales" fresh in exposed areas ;)

as a farmer, i welcome this spring rain event, to keep the grass quality for the cows so they can keep producing good milk for longer before the summer dry, and so I get more money
i.e its money from the sky and very welcome at this time of year!

the front is slwo to clear here, wind still in the WNW, there must be another burst of actiivty to move down the front still
(13mm here today)
