Bushfires in NZ
Heard today that they are having bushfires in the South Island, in Otago/Southland, is it bad?

We've had a west/NW flow over us to end of August and the winter...
...of cource silly people light fires for burning off purposes, not forgetting we are in a early period of west to north-westerlies and higher then surface vegetation are proned to dry off rather than the foliage at ground level.....thickees
