Sky a less pristine blue?

Unread post by RWood »

Even allowing for usual effects in NW episodes, the somewhat "powder blue" appearance evident today and yesterday afternoon makes me suspect Australian dust, even though it is rather early in the season for that.

Thanks Foggy. I think it's been this way since early Thursday at least though overcast skies made it difficult to detect till mid-morning Friday.

It looked smoky round these parts this morning. It could have been from nearby farm burnoffs, but perhaps it was from those big blazes in Victoria:

September 20, 2006 12:00am

VICTORIAN fire authorities say the bushfire season is up to six weeks early after blazes broke out across the state yesterday.

More than 150 fires were fought, the largest a 14,500ha blaze burning in the Murray-Sunset National Park in the state's northwest.
It was fanned by hot, dry northerly winds as dozens of firefighters and water-bombing planes were deployed.

Quite a lot of haze up this way yesterday and again today, probably some Australian bush fire smoke in the mix.

Sunny, light winds, currently 18C :D
