Bring back the SW!

Unread post by RWood »

...or the dry windy W/NW of much of September, for that matter...

It's a "3 fat ladies" situation here - in the 10 days from 24 Sept to today, we had 4 overcast days, 2 sunny ones and now 4 more overcast days - most of the dull days have also had mist or very low cloud bases for substantial periods of time. I'm assuming today will stay as is now during daylight...

That's 8 days of 8/8 in those 10. :(

In decades of living here I can recall very few cases of "lengthy" spells duller than that, even in winter.

Yes, it that's what's needed to finally break up this frontal graveyard. I hate dull spells above all other weather styles experienced in this land - - would rather have a wet day or storm followed by some sunshine any time :)

Can't tell properly on my sheltered street. But since it's not raining I'm going to walk through the Bot. Garden - should give me an idea.

This is not a high price to shortly see off a gloomy phase of weather

Thank you SW! Much better since the foul fortnight ending last Friday. Sunny and near-calm today apart from a brief shower or two mid-morning. :D But NW grunge looks to be coming back this w/end. :(

Drastic change in the skies about 30 mins ago - looks as if it's passing just to the east of the city, but not sure yet - very black indeed with signs of downbursts and hail. Was still basking in afternoon sun at the point the dark stuff was covering about 3/4 of the sky - can't see properly to the S/SE from here without walking up a hill.

I hate SW winds because it make it cooler here, i see that dramatic change in the snowies area few weeks ago down Blue Mts and Snowy Mts. I guess it starting to get warmer there by a massive heatwave developing with temperatures reaching 20C on hills and 30C on surface.
