Warm windy week ahead 13-17th Nov!!
Thought I would make a new topic for this week.
Looks like show week here in Canterbury is going to be relativly dry but warm although could be the odd weak change here and there with some showers perhaps Thursday.
The west coast looks like catching a good dosing of rain MS going for 200-300mm that is sure to bring the rivers bank to bank .
Some possible gale force winds moving in tomorrow night and into Tuesday with severe gusts likly for inland areas of Canterbury,Marlborough, lower North Island.
Maybe something thundery up north mid week .
Cheers
Jason.

I take it you mean heavy rain and odd Tstorm for us?? Any rain that does come with the change will be showers nothing heavy, and Tstorm highy unlikely with upper being so warm as well as bugger all moisture in the air.Looks like an active southerly change about Canterbury on Tuesday.. should see some heavy rain about and the odd thunderstorm.

Been on the cooler side today only because the NW hasn't hit yet infact still hasn't really over the south island but once that warm front crosses should tighten things up abit.
Some patchy low weak cumulus about this morning after a slight bit of rain in the early hours of the morning giving way to high cloud later on.
The NE breeze has been doing it's thing against the high cloud with some spots of rain before and also some weak forms of cumulus too.
You would be a fool to start raking up the leaves tomorrow and the same if you crossed the Waimakariri after the rains.
Cheers

Warm air is being advected down from the north aloft making the atmosphere quite stable.if the wind is not too strong, and its sunny inland, then there could be some afternoon CB's over the ranges in the waikato maybe???
Today should be the warmest day of the spring so far in Auckland with the forecast max of 24C looking to be on the mark.

Yay! Stormtracker showing plenty of activity on the coast and in the mountains, a little on the east coast!
I don't care, Weathermad, about the rain for cup day, in fact, it'll make it better with those silly women who use body paint every b#@&*y year! Those poser types annoy me!
Hoping the southerly brings some large static electricity with it!

Gale force nor-westers are causing problems in Canterbury.
MetService is predicting the winds will reach 130 kilometres per hour in exposed places.
A driver was trapped in his cab when a tree fell on his truck at Mouse Point between Culverdon and Hanmer Springs in North Canterbury. He has serious injuries and a helicopter is battling its way north in a bid to get him to Christchurch Hospital.
A fallen tree has blocked off access to Hanmer Springs and there are power outages in Darfield, Kirwee and around the Marshland Road area.

Unofficially gusts topping 160 kph and a number of local residents saying that the Nor'wester is the worst they have experienced
State Highway 7 has been closed and flooding and fallen trees have have affected SH 73
Truck Driver had a terrible experience between Culverden and Hamner when tree fell onto his vehicle
A number of vehicles on the side of the road on State highway One between Chch and Ashburton earlier this morn due to the high winds
Temps have soared as a consequence too in some parts
