Possibly a thunderstorm or two along the windchange tomorrow about midday but more likly slightly further north so here's hoping :D .
Another warm day today on 26C and a gusty NWer hasn't been gale force though like whats been predicted but has now swung fresh N-NE.
Cheers
Jason.

Light rain now in Chch with a cold, gusty southerly. I see Timaru had 9mm in the hour between 6&7am.

Still only a little rain in Chch, but the southerly sure is cold and gusty. Very wintry further south for the day before summer officially begins - only 3C in Queenstown at 10am and snow reported falling (but not settling below about 600-700m) at Arrowtown. Timaru and Oamaru also very cold at 10am - only 5-6C with recent rain.

Still raining here and cold, had 31mm since 4pm yesterday  Some rivers in flood, heavy rain out west and in the mountains.

Temp 4.2 ° snow level around 500m, not bad for the day before summer.

Temperatures were low enough for light frosts around Chch yesterday morning, and there were even reports of slight frosts in sheltered spots around Akaroa. (very unusual for so late in the year)
TV1 Weather showed the Tararuas from Wellington yesterday morning - decidedly winter-like in appearance with a coating of snow on the upper slopes above the bushline.
