Front was fairly weak compared to what was forecast. Still, we got 15mm here which is useful for the garden. Its time to batten down the hatches now for a several days of wintry southerly quarter weather!
we missed that tail end all together....another 0.5mm only
but i think the coast side of the peninsular would have goten more yesterday
the next tasman front might give us some rain...and back to the SWer....been a nice break from it last few days!
i see kaimai kid got 25mm
(good to see the graph on your web site kaimaikid (but you have lost the summary image?)
Still mainly nor-westers here, dewpoint is 18° and hopefully them sou-westers kick in here mid to late afternoon to give things time to really warm up as the current temp is only 20° but has been higher...
i do have some photo's but they are on my phone and i have no idea how to get them onto my computer. it was cool to watch the 'wall of rain' move across the plains
My rain gauge no longer in operation, but we had a decent heavy shower (12mm in Hastings) and I had to make a rapid gutter-clearing dash up the ladder!

If you are on Telecom 027, set up an on-line gallery on the PC, then download photos from the phone. They can then be easily accessed to your PC files.

miserable day here in Turakina... Been trying to do 40 metres of fencing (atleast its light rain and no wind) but a tad chilly at 12 °C. decided to come inside to have a hot drink and now cant be buggered going back out..
Still some pretty big Cu's forming over the Kaimais...
Crawled over the Kaimais around 2ish this arvo, felt like it was only around 8° - 10° up there at the time, we had an edge of a very heavy squall come through the mount around 4ish, man did it pelt down but no sign of any electrical activity around Tauranga though...
poor day time heating probably wont lead to much over the upper north.
Fresh to strong Westerlies reduced heating and convection, any heavy showers were short lived.
Did a drive down to the Bombay hills mid afternoon, drove through 3 hail showers. Cb cloud in the photo below produced hail up to 1cm size, around 2pm.

there was some good ones out to sea, but they kept on weakening as they approached the auckland area

and right in the area of the met services greatest risk...again, well done met service
