i am wondering if your shot NZstorm is of another one at a different time...as the one Ricky and I could see was lit up by the sun in the western sky......or is it because you were looking at it from a different angle.....hummm

Yes, different times. A good situation for funnel clouds but I was to far away to see whether any occured.
