Missed it "visually" again - when I'm around, it happens at night. :x

Woke me twice though, the 10mm in 4 minutes made plenty of noise on the neighbour's spouting particularly.

We managed 28mm between 5 and 6 - NZ record is that impressive 109mm at Leigh, 30 or 31 May 2001. Record NZ fall for a day is 682mm - that's over 28 mm/hr. :shock:

Now that's the intensity of rain that should really cause flooding. Chch also had some surface flooding today (not that I saw much myself except for what was shown on TV1 News). But we haven't had nearly as much rain as Wellington. Must've been all the autumn leaves in the gutters.
