Nice Gary. Just heard its snowing in Queenstown with big dry (if you know what I mean) flakes.

Gary, it's been 3 months with no temp spikes after your suggestion on the WM-918. I'm getting another rain gauge brought over from England in Feb. The postage was horrific so someone I know is going to bring one over. Do you need a spare? I think they are 35 squids.

And now back to the weather...

Still snowing hard here, have a few inches lying around, no sign of easing.

I've just repaired the Lake Ohau weather station rain gauge...but I may be keen for a spare or too. Will get back to ya. The budget is looking a wee bit unhealthy right now.

it just looks like this year its down south's turn for snow not canterbury. Althought I see Ashburton is only on 4.3C while Chch is on 8C thats quite a big difference. Wait till southerly hits then we may cool down

And to think, I have spent the last few years thinking, bad weather travels up, so if Dunedin's getting some white stuff we will too.

Oh well as long as we get one fall this winter, then I will be happy.

The snow fall over central Otago is associated with passage of the low, very cold low level air in place as Front moves across the area so low level snow.
Wintry SW with the warnings is still to the SW of NZ.
