Getting rather overcast here now with a temperature of 2.4C and still dropping, looks like some very grey/white snow clouds to my west at the moment so probly snowing in Rangiora etc.
Interesting to note the wind swung easterly for awhile this morning but is now more SE, I also don't think we are out of this just yet. ;)
Cheers
Jason.

We've just dropped a couple of degrees in the last little while - down to 3.8 now. Aren't cities just "warmer" anyway?

Just been for run round Hagley Park. Cool, calm, crisp and clearing skies. For those who are still clinging to snow in town, give it up!

Temp is now 5.6 degrees and the barometer is still raising 1010, and the wind is NORTH WEST.

If anyone thinks its still going to snow, they need serious help.

plenty of prcip on ch ra radar, western canterbury is getting a dump, banks pen is blocking ch as its a easterly flow, if the wind changes to S it should snow as there's plenty of precip out to sea.

Went out a few minutes ago and I could see what must be snow or sleet falling over the Port Hills.

The question HAS to be asked...gopolks...how long have you lived in CHCH? You sound as if this weather pattern is actually new to you? :? :D

There is a very impressive "rain/something"-band just to the south and west of the Port Hills...looks to be out near Lincoln/Hornby/Halswell area...looks a wee bit like the picture in the upper left corner of the Forum site, but not quite as bad. ;)

That was quite weird, it got very very dark, all the blue sky went, it looked like something was happening, in the space of 40 minutes though, its back to clear blue sky in this part of chch, and judging by looking in the distance, its clearing up in other parts, it cant seem to make up its mind!

Im guessing the wind direction has been all over the place????
