Bye bye Brendan

Unread post by TonyT »

From this article:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/4187455a10.html

"One News weatherman Brendan Horan also leaves the channel this week after being made redundant."

Sad to see one of the more pleasant and watchable weather presenters leave. Best thing TV3 could do would be to snap him up.

Completely agree. TVNZ has lost the plot anyway. I found his relaxed presentation very watchable.

Na, I'm quite happy with Toni Marsh.

Maybe for the weekends?

Why is he being made redundant?
Redundant means job no longer required.
So Karen is doing the weather full-time.
She should be the one made rdundant as she has been there too long.

TV3s news is ok but I change for the weather as its Westside Eastside over there and no 3pm temps.

TV3 weather is better in several ways but I agree that it is good to see the daily temps across the country.
I find that also TV3 weather presenters are more social and less professional, on TV1 you get a more detailed forecast given to you straight :)

I dont like TV3's weather the graphics just dont fit it for me and TV1 does a better fly by ;) .
Maybe Brendon is handing the job over to Jim, as I believe he was expected to come back. :)
Cheers

Thats show business...yes a pity they had to build him into the job and then give him the chop. He had become quite watchable. I watch TV1 weather and news.

Yes, she is, but I consider her boring, sadly, and been there too long. She started with Jim Hickey.

Brendon didn't mention anything about his 'redundancy' on TV tonight.
He looked quite cheerful :?
He said 'See you later'
Maybe he has other plans and wants to leave and move on, to further his career??
If that's the case, good on him :)

I personally dissed Brendan when he started with TVNZ, and I used to think he was crap, but I have grown to like his presentation.

It is a shame in any situation for someone to be made redundant, so I hope Brendan does well out of this (sue the bastards I say  )

I'm not really into the gfx used on TV3, whereas TVNZ is nice and clean, therefore I prefer to watch TV1 for weather. I also think that Toni Marsh is skanky as! and i think she is riding the gravy train here becuase she knows she's got a million middle age men who adore the ground she walks on......she can do no wrong in some peoples eyes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jim was the ONLY real weatherman in this country......no arguments :)

Years ago I used to watch a meteorologist on ABC, who did the Chicago area weather. He was excellent in every way. The presenters on the other big channels were all hopeless - shallow and ignorant.

I hope Brendan gets picked up by TV3, though I don't like their format much at all.
