Long Period of Rain For Fiordland
There is a likelyhood that as a high develops off the coast of Northland a warm moist northerly flow over the Tasman will persist for the rest of this week bringing prolonged rain showers to the South West of the southland and Fiordland and in particular some heavy falls to the west coast later in the week. Some thunderstorms are possible for Northland about Friday

I'mmmm Yess looks like it. I can see the possibility of some rouge thunderstorm activity, although weak, for Canterbury from it as well
...but from me, mentioning that fact, nothing will happen, of course

Let the high intenisfy, remain stationary just east of the NI and fronts slowly move up and decay over the south is and lower NI.We are way overdue for this pattern to arrive to end this tasman high stuff.

Brilliantly clear start to the day here. Hope some "spoiler" NWers don't develop later in the week - NNE would be fine though.
