Rain at the wrong times...

Unread post by RWood »

A bit tongue-in-cheek, thinking of my "wishlist " thread. Years ago one Xmas we drove down the West Coast. Long-range on 22nd had promised some southerly bias with highs sufficently far south to give some nice weather. Way out... :? First lot of rain near Rotoiti on 23rd, and then overcast except for a couple of hours on Xmas day, with rain, showers or drizzle almost continuously till we reached Makarora on the 27th. Impossible to see any scenery or look at the glaciers without being thoroughly drenched. A week or so later we went to Milford for a day. Wouldn't have minded seeing some heavy rain there, but it was just cloudy with a few drizzle spots! In about 6 trips to Milford I'd seen plenty of sun, but never any rain!
