pea sized hail before vigorous looking roll cloud coming its going nuts out there cells and showers everywhere.

Thunder and hail now in central Chch. :o Caught forecasters by surprise, but just shows how unpredictable west/southwesterly flows can be.

Wow the Christchurch lightning tracker must be crap it shows the storms 200km east of Christchurch :?
Anyway enjoy your weather Canterbrians! Nothing exciting up north for the rest of the month sadly (not at this stage anyway).

Seem to be many reports coming in but no photos :(

Was out in the thick of it...WOW! :D :shock: 8)
looks to be a pretty sunset shaping up to the west as well...VERY pink and purple...was trying to get pics...will post later.

Southerly feels close to gale now, and temp has dropped to 8C.
