Even if it was a cyclone theyd still be letting them off,at least the rain will dampen the sparks
They will happen to wait till the next dry night to for their ra ra

Only a pathetic 2mm so far, hopefully there'll be
a lot of rain tomorrow.

Looks like this first front is a fizzer most of the showers have been staying south of Christchurch.
Should be some occasional showers from about after lunch tomorrow maybe some hail, but that should clear by after dark in time for the mixture of wonderful fire colour in the sky.
Cheers
Jason.

Looks cold down south, Chch only on 10C.
I see a Thundery Cb popped up near Timaru briefly.

It seems warmer than that here in the ChCh cbd. Up to 14 here now. Little or no wind so the sun feels nice. Little bit cloudy at times but certainly nothing to wrtie home about from here.

Well here in CHCH, not one drop of rain, and the sun is out, but prime news has just told me, the showers will clear?
What happen to this cold front?

Cb's visible well offshore as I was coming back to Chch about 4.30pm. Rain showers and fine breaks earlier in afternoon on outer BP, but only scattered cloud around Chch.

You're very happy about a trace of rain in the gauge? - and to think I was disappointed I only got 10mm in this latest system

Any irrigation from the sky will do, saves having to water our trees

Rather calm out with around 11C atleast, well it is calm now after the fireworks around the place.
New Brighton must have been cancelled as i couldnt see any big flashes in the sky nor no distant booms like I normally do.
Steady rain falling outside at the moment with some rather large drops, wind is still light NE.
Interesting too on the 10pm radar, not often you see that happen.
Cheers
Jason.

No it wasn't - Press showed photo and article this morning. People left pretty quickly after the last fireworks as the rain got heavier.

NZ Herald forecast quote today mainly fine apart from a few areas of afternoon cloud.light winds and sea breezes.
