Don't know what weather stations are quoted in the conditions list. Hastings is not the MetService site (there is no anemometer or barometer there). Could be a private one, or HortResearch near Havelock North. Any thoughts?

Hi James,

Yes, very useful satpic animation. I've bookmarked this, and set it to 6 hours and slow (read: oldgit-speed!!)!

Definitely not MetService - you're suggestion re the HortResearch site is a valid one, given that the info is on an Elders webpage. I rather doubt they'd use a local private station, unless they'd been and had a look at thermometer and anemometer exposure, etc.

Great "top-down" weather at present!

Cheers,

George

Hastings - probably IHAWKESB9 at St Leonards from Weather Underground.

http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... =IHAWKESB9

or
IHAWKESB5 Longlands, or even MADIS MC4651 at Flaxmere.

All their data is available from WU as regular downloads or even on a mesomap - don't know?

No, none of those 3 stations check out, still suspect that it is from the HortResearch station near Havelock North.
