There's a developing shower line to the SW of Chch, currently looks brief but sharp.

Sky still clear down here in the Mackenzie.

I see MS have lifted their snow warnings for Saturday. Nothing but "flurries" forecast now. I'd say that's about right...definitely feeling more autumnal than winter around here, still.

From the CPIT roof, I could see 3 cells. Looks like it's fizzled out, but here's some pre-rain photos.

Heard some thunder to the west earlier; now raining in central Chch. Down to 4.8C at Hillmorton - the really cold air has now arrived!

Had a good snow shower through Dunedin from about 1:20pm until 2pm. Flakes were landing on my lawn at about 60 m asl, much too warm to settle. Snow has briefly (probably) settled to about 300 m on the hills around. 4 degrees!

That was fairly exciting, blue skies and broken cloud now, battery flat in my camera unfortunately, temperature has certainly gone down a bit 5.1c at the moment with a stiff breeze. :)
