Cold according to Jeffs, woke up around 7:30 briefly and looked outside to a shower of small hail then went back to sleep. Im supirsed at how cold it is!

Havent got the press yet myself, I can see a very light dusting of snow on the very top of the hills.

Page 3 of 1st section, but only a small article in the In Brief column. Had a look outside and there's still snow on the Port Hills above about 350m.

Yeah, oretty impressive hail shower...enough to cover the lawn and patio furniture...the kids are loving it!

Didn't hail that much here.. Hailed heavily but small and didnt cover stuff. Its dropped from 7.5 to 5.6 in 20 mins!!

Currently 4.8 degrees in this part of town.

We managed to get to 11 here before it dropped suddenly again.

Hmm...

Jeffs peaked at 7.5.. Mines the coldest part of town!!

yeah peoples! its all go, none of this going offshore bussines today, its coming straight for chch, currently temp is on 5C in my part town, having rather big hail showers, if not periods of rainy hail. also some sleet.
suger loaf got dusting of snow on it and appeard to go quite low earlier this morning on the port hills! clearly be seen.

What a change from a good hour or so of clearish weather and no rain, in the last 20mins the sky has closed in with heavy rain laced with hail and now 4C.

We have absolutely nothing here, and has been this way for the last past ages.

Its come in again, heavy rain and cold.

It seems out this way, its starting to clear for good, it feels warmer and the wind has died down and it has stopped raining, roll on the next southerly blast, when ever that might be, probably the start of June!!

Well its getting darker again, I guess its set in for afternoon.

That was some impresive hail storm that went through. Lasted quite a while.

All you lucky buggers getting hail, nothing here or nothing much.
We had thunder here this morning around 4:30am and 5:30am. There have been a lot of thundery showers today but those 2 were the only ones that were literally thundery, the other times the rain was that heavy that it just thundered down. 19mm here until 1:30pm.

We had a big storm according to other household members at 6:00am, but I was of course sleeping.

My father told me there was a spectacular thunder and lightning show around Akaroa in the very early hours of today.

Saw clouds yesterday I hadn't seen in a while, but what can ya do when ya gotta work. bahh.

Heard some nice booms and saw a few flashes. Got woken up by a few thunder claps early this morning to, which is amazing as I thought I'd never get woken by thunder. However I just went back to sleep as couldn't be bothered getting out've bed.

A few hail showers about today indeed, not big hail but showery hail.
