I'm looking at that deep low that at the moment will remain over the Tasman Sea over the weekend seems to be deepening. :-k Some models are predicting a south track, others a Northerly one. :? The Jet stream 300mb/200mb seems to affecting the spin with high winds aloft possibly forming a full circle. Might be an interesting one to keep our eye on as the anticyclone moves away. 8-[

Interesting high, if does get up to the 1040hPa mark :-k
Could be "anticyclonical gloom", weather, because of the high pressure, or radiant blue skies over much of New Zealand.
Further ahead, looks as though it may get cold over New Zealand from late next WE if the next intense anticyclone sits in the Australian Bight. :|

Some unseasonable maximums in the last week, even with frosty nights in many areas as well - Wanganui got to 22C on Monday I think (must be a June record), and SI West Coast has been getting up to 17-18C on a few days lately, including Milford Sound.
