Howdy people.. Long time since I was here last..

Has been awful in the Horowhenua.. Even had some sleet this morning.. But I am very surprised to see there is no new snow on the Tararuas.. There way less now than there was this time last week.. :?

snow looking clouds crossing the auckland area...
would not surprise me if there is sleet falling on the top of the Waitaks
Yes just driving through new lynn, the rain drops were either made up of rain, tiny bouncy hail and an almost mushy type of drop that sort of spread out like stars on the wind sheild(sleet?)

Rotorua now down to 2C and sleet/snow reported in the city by Trademe posters. I remember growing up there and a couple of light falls in the early 80s, but not since then. Another report of snow on Pyes pa Rd, inland from Tauranga

Good flash of lightning and loud bang about 4 minutes ago, followed by a brief powerdip in Titirangi.
Skies clearing over Waitakeres
Who put the LED's on the lightning arrestor ?

Have just returned from taking the kids up to the snow on the Saddle Road, at the base of Wharite (very southern end of the Ruahine Ranges). Hopefully I will have some photos up soon.

There's a good coating of snow on the top third of the Tararua Ranges, at the northern end and the top two thirds of the southern Ruahine Ranges.

Observing the network, If my house lights dip, A power fail relay triggers an alarm indicator in my house.
Also I do have a scanner to monitor fire and police.

Don't know wher dannews gets info from, perhaps Newstalk ZB.

Nice snow pics there

This Cb put out a very spectacular lightning bolt just in front of me about 20mins ago, seemed to develop as it moved in.
Had a brief hail storm at my location on Mt Roskill.
