Hail Cannons
Came across this URL marketing hail cannons manufactured in the South Island.
The small cb photo on the home page came from my website.

Re: Hail Cannons
Haha nice find! Couldn't imagine it being really that effective, looks quite suspect actually.

Re: Hail Cannons
i think they make the hail smaller?
(breaks it up), as against completly preventing hail?
but i could be wrong

Re: Hail Cannons

Re: Hail Cannons
What a crock of sh*t.
I'd like to see peer reviewed evidence of their effectiveness.
If it was pointed at approaching weather perhaps, but not straight up.

Re: Hail Cannons
it does say it only gives a 200m radius of protection....
maybe with a slow moving CB that developed right over head it might work?
but a fast moving hail shower in a squally airstream, surely there would be no protection...

Re: Hail Cannons
Aussies are in to these big time. I worked in the pear orchards in northern-Victoria and anytime some dark cloud came near it was like WW1 with explosions going off for miles around.
