Anticyclonic Gloom, its back in the north
A weak Sw flow today with drizzly showers. On Sunday we get a bit of a moist easterly surge in the morning which will keep the cloud and weak showers going for another day. Weather should fine up in Auckland early week.

yes, something we have not seen much of for a while (luckily) (which is why our sunshine hours have been up on normal I guess!)
will make day time maximums less, but night time minimums higher
the temperature rose in the evening last night, which was the indicator of a different airmass arriving

It sure did. Made very nice weather for sitting on Mt Eden road with a nice beer at De PostManukau heads observer wrote: the temperature rose in the evening last night, which was the indicator of a different airmass arriving

As for the anticyclonic gloom...well that can feel free to stick around this weekend, as long as it decides to be fine on next saturday for out first BBQ of the spring/summer

the way the wind got less gusty (steadier) (i call it a pressure wind) this afternoon and the cloud has broken a bit, all points to a easterly surge coming in tomorrow...but, the barometer has not started to rise ....which it needs to do first (normaly), as the high comes in...hummmm

Might see some local covergence showers over the next couple of days if the sea breezes can get going.

Just a bit early in season for proper sea breezes spwill. Lack of sea breezes will limit any convective potential. Hopefully skies don't cloud up too much with tomorrows easterly, would be nice to get our sun back after a gloomy day today.

i think I was trying to hint that not all the signs were there to get an easterly surge today.....well, there is none, LOL
will be an OK day now...apart from the high cloud....
