Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but Tornado TIm got me into the mood to get a weather station (with all the talk around his!) and I think Invercargill needs some repersentation,
I'm just wondering what everyone thinks about the La Crosse Weather Station Pro WS2350. Went into DSE today and had a look and looked fairly decent. I don't want to spend a hell of alot on a weather station ($600 max).
Thoughts would be very much appreciated.

I wouldn't recommend to buy from DSE as they put allot of middleman on everything.
BTW, $600 could get you a davis from overseas hehe .
This is the right place to put your topic as well.
I am glad I have put you in the mood to buy 1.

I've been running my WS2300 series station since Oct 2007, no issues with it!

if you do get a 2310 type station, and connect it to a PC, then its recommended to re wire the wires that come with it with better quality CAT5 cable, to avoid RF inteference (causes data spikes)

Also then you can place the equipment in the optimal positions after splitting them up more than 10m as I have done and more than 10m from the PC. Hardwired is still the way to go with them - much more frequent data updates: 8sec vs 25 - 90 secs (or similar) depending on the wind speed.

I purchased a secondhand one early last year...from a forum member...and must say I have been very happy with it.
Unfortunately i dont have the perfect location for it and the anemometer did freeze once or twice but other than that perfect.
