Dense, extensive fog so early

Unread post by Willoughby »

Tuesday and Thursday morning, Hamilton had widespread and dense fog, particulary Tuesday - when carriers couldn't come in and out of Hamilton, lol.
This fog so early in the year, rare in March, is it because of the record rainfall we had in February, and then the ground becomes more saturated?

5c the other morning :x

Apparently there was quite a bit of fog around Canterbury early this morning, but I didn't notice any around central Chch. Some interesting looking high cloud about late morning/noon - could've produced some shower activity in North Canterbury, even though it looked (coming from high cloud) to be quite a distance away.
