Very large cruise ship Celebrity Solstice in port yesterday. 315m long according to Wikipedia.

Yes. some of those cruise ships can be rather large.
I remember when we were in Stewart Island last year, there was a huge cruise ship parked in Paterson Inlet.
Looked very unnatural in the local environment.

Not sure actually. But yes ferry commuting has many more opportunities for photos than other modes of transport for sure :smile:

Yes it is - current location near White Island.
We quite often have NZ Navy ships anchor overnight here just off Oneroa Beach and depart before sunrise.

You can just make out HMNZS Wellington's 'P55' ID in that photo.
Her sister patrol ship HMNZS Otago's ID is 'P148'.
