No more Blue Skies at Fencepost
Fonterra have shut out public users. No reference to Blue Skies in their suggested list of "helpful links".

Re: No more Blue Skies at Fencepost
Only covers the South Island. I don't see any seasonal forecast stuff either.

Re: No more Blue Skies at Fencepost
Ta...thats what us High Country consultants need.
Basic day to day stuff is cool, but I';d exepct to have to pay for moire detailed analysis- I'm sure Blue Skies is not a charitable trust providing weather detials for free!

Re: No more Blue Skies at Fencepost
I always go to jeffs weather station and click the blue skies link on there. Its way more efficient. 12 day forecasts with no login required.

Re: No more Blue Skies at Fencepost
Fencepost has become a closed (private) system for Fonterra suppliers.
When the original Fencepost was set up in 2000 the Kiwi Dairy Company had a goal of it becoming the number one agricultural portal in New Zealand, but once Kiwi merged and became Fonterra some years later that goal changed to one of servicing just Fonterra suppliers.
I know a lot of people who are not Fonterra suppliers used Fencepost regularly over the last 9 years, and some of them have already been in touch with us asking for a replacement site. As Glitz says, the South Island forecasts are available on the CRT site, and fear not North Islanders, we have plans to have Blue Skies forecasts for the North Island (and probably the whole country) back on the web for you very soon. I'm not sure how much seasonal information will be out there in the near future, but we do have some plans for that too, which will be a few months away.

Re: No more Blue Skies at Fencepost
Thanks for that. Surprised it was possible to get the info via Fencepost as long as it lasted, given the nature of Fonterra.

Sad that this link has gone
Used to check the site very regularly for forecasts for the country other than the ones on CRT website.
Looking forward to the new website.
