Ok, it says here that "Over the next three or so years, weather radars will be installed on Mahia Peninsula (third quarter of 2009)".
I also read today the cost of the radar installations (3.5 million if my memory serves me correctly) and that the preffered site of Puwhenua I reported is not happening as they have been unable to get support for the radar there and the land was Tapu or some such.
Another site on private land in the Mamaku's is under consideration for the BOP.
