Yes Richard but as you will know rangiora can be a very frosty place _b and i find the winter min's to be about 2 deg colder than chch but on the other hand the highs in summer are about 2deg warmer, it tends to also get alot more NW winds blowing when chch or even kaiapoi doesnt- but bugger all storms is a down side q-
I know what ya saying Melja,i was born and bred in Rangiora, but Rangiora is not as frosty as woodend or Waikuku ,as the cold air falls off the plains and is trapped against the warmer air over the seas in Pegasus Bay

Only about 0.3°C here this morning, coldest I've noticed this year. It sure was hard getting out of bed this morning.

A shade over zero this end of town.. iced over cars but nothing extreme, not even really a grass frost to speak of.

0.4°C here at 7:30am (3°C at Akld Aero).

Looks like July for Akld will be another cool month, although not by any significant amount.
Rain about normal, but again, no lack of sunshine. 8)

Down to minus 2.6C in the screen, possibly minus  6C on the grass judging by the whiteness around the place.

I knew Metservice was exaggerating when they predicted -3°C here.
The Ham AWS is only on -1°C and My low was only -1.2°C.
Predicted Low here was only -1°C.
A whole back of alto stratus has moved on through, hindering the process of making a cold temp possible, Damb!
But I have to say, You can get quite sick of defrosting the car all time, LOL

No frost in central Chch this morning, though apparently the Airport recorded one.
Certainly alot warmer than this day 60 years ago (July 1939), when light snow fell in downtown Auckland. (according to note for 28th on my MetService calendar)

 i have that exact same calander tich :)
Its nice to look back and read some of the wild, wicked weather that has happened over the years.
One day of witch is my birthday the "19th" December where according to MS calendar there was a superstorm witch brought a destructive tornado that went through Amberly and large hail.

On topic: yes, yesterday morning it really was not cold for chch but i was working in Rangiora, and was much colder out that way then chch in the morning!! :-(
