it was 1993 as the calander says it anyway, I cant remember any big storm that day to be honest but hey i would have only been 6.
However if i can remember the 1992 snow storm i should be able to think back then but i honestly cant remember any major storm.

They did.
On the 27th, I got stuck on the Scargill Bank when the DFT couldn't pull the train up the hill 8-o
It was heavy snowing but I think there was a fault on the DFT. o_O

Were there DFTs here in 1992? It must of been one of the first rebuilds of the old 6xxx series DFs

O.T About trains. In railfan it had the GM DFs went for 17 years so the 1st ones 1979 takes it to 1995-96 before being DFT DFMs turbocharged, maxitrak whatever.Anyway they went from nice loud locomotives to quiet ones when under strain. The louder the better. As far as weather I remember the DA class and on a wet day the noise was impressive.

-5 C here this morning, first frost in 8 days thanks to the NW wind that never stopped all that time, moving in to a different weather Pattern now by the look of it with high pressure dominating for a week to come.Damm i dont like high pressure in winter or in summer, winter brings frosts, summer intense heat that this area experiences, being one of the hottest places in NZ

I think there is a false radar reading again with the same blue shower line near North Canterbury. According to metservice we had 0.2mm of rain in the last hour? It hasnt even rained has it? Radar suggests it hasnt either. Beats me!

Thats a good point actually! In fact it says for August now that we have had 0.4mm. Surely the will deduct this for the monthly readings? Imagine if August offically had no rain at all in Christchurch. They cant say 0.4mm was the tally if it was due to dew!
