the rain band has dissipated over northland, and is now stronger off to the east. looks like its blowing the fog away too :(

in the tasman, the low appears to be taking shape now. i see a nice arm and some rotation.

Yeah what happened to the "late rain" that was forecast?
Light wind of about 7kph gusts 13kph has gotten rid of the fog that re-developed here earlier this evening.

wind picking up here now
I see a new low /trough developing to the SE of the original, where the jetstream is strongest/at the point where it curves...as the models have indicated
looking impressive on the sat image this system, despite not too much rain yet

Good enough rain here, putting water into my tanks. All the indoor plants are out having a drink, couldnt do it before because of a long sustained wind blast (of around 30 mins to an hour) came through here and literally blew over the outdoor setting clean across the yard, only thing stopping it from going further was the fence along the old milk truck turnaround.

Lazy sunday..

Pressure in Auckland at 9pm last night was 1010 hPa. If it drops to 986 hPa by 9pm tonight, then technically we have a 'weather-bomb'. 8-o
