Not the same story for inland areas 1.1C at half 7 in Methvan with rain on the radar inland.
Should be here soon the rain, has warmed up abit yeah to 7.2C here funny there was a strong gusty NE before for about an hour.
Edit. Wow look at the 8pm radar inland looks like snow falling up that way given the temperatures.

I know, 8pm radar very impressive for Inland areas and hevay snow will be falling if temps cold enough which they seem to be in some places by the sounds of it. Right now it is the warmest its been all week lol. Wonder if we will see that rain band intensify towards here. Obvious not expecting snow but maybe some brief heavy rain.

Hmm interesting, as i have not been keeping up with models lately, i have checked them now.
To me the 500mb is little to warm for snow to sea level for us Canty folk this weekend, HOPE IM WRONG!
The coldest air doesn't arrive here until midnight Saturday into Sunday if i am reading it right.
Temp at mine is 7.3C at this stage, rather mild if you could put it that way :D
but a few spots around and that rain radar is looking awesome!!

Tennis in the wind, cold and/or rain/snow, John? You must be either mad or truly inspired by Wimbledon! :-)

Still a wait and see situation for me but certainly higher chances inland, good steady rain here now with a strong gusty NE wind.
Dropped from 7.2C earlier to 5.1C now and still dropping.

Reported snowing in Springfield just after 8 pm. Not big flakes, but pretty steady. Half hour ago I drove home from a meeting in Darfield and it was sleeting quite considerably. Heavy rain set in just prior to 8pm. Temps still dropping. Still sounds like heavy stuff falling on the roof.

Just been for a drive out to west melton and the inland road home. Very steady heavy rain and the city has it now too. Radar for 10pm very good! Yes trade me tonight reporting lots of snow around inland areas. Twizel seems to be coping it!

Same here mark up to 10mm in the gauge pity though that the rain is slightly horizontal due to the wind, as the rain gauge wont read properly.
It was quite heavy rain before but now just light to moderate stuff again, temperature 4.7C.

13mm now and i thought it was easing somewhat but midnight radar would suggest otherwise.

Think by 3am rain will have cleared. Tomorrow looks mainly fine. Showers again from Saturday. Pitty really.
