No fog here this morn, but I see Metars show fog at Akld Aero from 4am to about 7am - several flights were disrupted apparently.

Equinox at 9:18am next Wednesday (23rd), then daylight-saving begins the following Sunday - Yay! =D>

The maximum wind gust since midnight has been 37km/h here and only a very slight breeze over the last 2 hours. I would say gusting 20km/h at most. Up to 17 degrees here and thick high cloud.
Has defenitely been windy here in Riccarton for the past few hours Mark, very gusty at times

Yes and as i said before some good definatly gale force gusts out this way this morning, still getting strong gusts here and looks like the sun is going to appear soon.
MS saying scatterd rain now for later on, it will be much needed and appreciated by the farmers i would imagine.

Its only been a gentle breeze here all morning.

Its looking rather gloomy to the south at the moment like it could start raining sporadic drops any minute. The radar shows some coming together with a bit of new development or something just south of BP (3pm). However, I reckon a few showers will brush BP and we may see a couple of very brief showers through the evening but wouldnt expect more than 1mm tops, if any.

It is now drizzly ever so slightly, see a few specs on the ground. Still 19 degrees though.

Still some light patchy showers off and on out there, just enough to dampen the ground.
Looks like some steady to heavy showers offshore south of Christchurch at the moment too, wind briefly turned easterly around 7pm too.

Looks like a cooler SE change working its way across the North Island today. A cloudy day on the way for Auckland with showers likely from afternoon. Given very moist air any daytime heating will add to the precip chances with a some t/cu/heavier showers possibly developing this afternoon.

They will be possible in the east ie Rotorua / Taupo areas and Kaimais. Here its overcast quite pleasant 14c though the lawnmower is not an option now as the grass is wet.

All of 1mm here. You must have brought the rain with you!! Not that you get much in Blenheim but I know youve got more than what we have. Looks like mid next week some decent rain with a SE flow. Will see what the models continue to say.

It looks like what happened last night from what i figured out, the rain we got earlier was coming across from the NW as there was a slight westerly breeze at the time.
I can also tell this by rain radar movement, the second bout of rain was from a SW change which would have given the 1mm to Mark as it passed through.
This was the second cold front and didnt clear until around 5am by the looks inland, thats what you get when things are very stationary.
In the end 6.8mm in the gauge here which is a good start for the more rain to come.
How messy is next week the models are all over the show, looks like if it pulls through we might just be out of a possible drought we were fearing.
Theres a deep low from later on Wednesday by the looks which some models are picking up, we will have to wait and see.

Very little other than a few sporadic drops in town. Roads were damp for about ten minutes and were dry at 6am this morning so the presumption is it missed us.

Rain was hit and miss up here as well. Warm dewpoint temps, 15C, humid for the time of year.

Long range models have a more normal look to them now with cold air in the mix, will generate some rainfall for the dry eastern SouthIsland.

We need this sort of mix for precipitation in this so called 'drought' period, however this mixture could be damaging because of the likehood of eg. hail forming in thunderstorms.
Precipitation without a thunderstorm scenario would be very beneficial for Spring growth
