M/S Rain Radars Down

I thought I might as well make a new thread as we are starting to hijack the thunderstorm warning thread, LOL
The 11 AM run is only showing 2 radars are operational atm. o_O
Whats going on?

Invercargill radar most likely doing a sounding...

Yes, it looks worse than it is. Both Invercargill and New Plymouth switch to the balloon sounding at 11am. The Canterbury radar fault is still being investigated.

New Plymouth and Invercargill radar sites share the equipment for both wind finding and weather surveillance three times in a 24 hour period.
