Yes, a shame this line is not coming through later in the day.

Should see thunderstorms pop up today in the Waikato to Bay of Plenty regions due to daytime heating.

getting torrential rain here at my parents. Very short sharp bursts as the building showers move over. They certainly are building very quickly now. Can watch the updrafts easily on them.

Damb it, it turned to a thunderstorm once it just went over me! Argggg!
Update: A second CB is popping up south, it looks like it may pay a visit to Tokoroa as it moves East.

A hailstorm about 11.30am and then a short sharp thunderstorm went through Tauranga about 1pm but not very active, albeit quite noisy when it did strike up. Nothing much else to report.

Just had a huge cloudburst from the SW about half hour ago, dropped close to 6mm not that I really need it, tanks are overflowing and have been for a couple of days now. Nice backshearing anvil visible towards the norh shore.

Very dark base to a CB to the north.
It seems there is a nice CB coming into Hamilton according to the the 1 PM rain radar.

I drove to Te Kuiti and back this morning and saw some huge impressive CB's. Thick hail on the road just out of Otorohanga and big anvils all around me. Got hit by one downpour that was really heavy

There has been some weak TS activity over Waikato last couple of hrs.
There is a Cu/Cb line with some strong looking development on it now from eastern Northland down east of Auckland into Waikato.

This is a magnificent example of a CB Incus with its huge anvil. Blowing up and maturing as I type :D
